Run DMC is one of the most influential acts in the history of hip-hop culture. This iconic group has sold 230 million records worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009. Founded in 1981 by Joseph “Run” Simmons, Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels and Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell, Run DMC was the first Rap group to have an album certified Gold with their self-titled album in 1984.
